In 1968 qualified naturopath Janice Smith, fuelled by her passion for natural therapies began specialising in skin health. "Beauty Through Nutrition" was the chosen name for her first consultation clinic, and as her list of clients grew so did her reputation and expertise as a specialist in her field.

In her quest for a premium organic all plant skin care that brought real therapeutic benefits to the health of skin, Janice Smith decided to create her own.

To begin, Janice wanted to establish her own organic herb garden and found "Claret Ash Farm", a dairy farm in the pristine Adelaide Hills region.

JANESCE was launched in 1986, embodying all the philosophies that had become Janice Smith's dedicated life's work.

The first Janesce company skin health and beauty store was opened in 1992. Today the company expansion into the retail market continues to grow.

Overseas markets began in mid 90's with New Zealand, Japan, and Singapore. This market growth has continued.

As the JANESCE product range expanded Janice never compromised on her vision that began her on the journey as a specialist in skin health. Advice on healthy eating and lifestyle habits to assist wellbeing, are presented hand in hand with the beautiful Janesce skin care products.
